HoloView Tracked Advertisement

The goal of this project was to create a motion tracked advertisement that features a pair of glasses that include advanced identification technology and can show the user pop-ups while wearing them. The company that created these glasses was called Holo Inc. and these glasses were meant to be advanced in their technology.

Programs Used:

- Brand Creation

- Motion Tracking

- Advertisement Creation

To showcase features that these glasses were to have integrated into them, a selection of shots were chosen to motion track and include pop-ups that the glasses could show to its users. The first step was to create the assets that were going to be used as pop-ups such as screens that would appear and include text within it.

Once all assets had been created it was time to motion track all footage that was provided, which proved to be trickier than initially thought. Tracking isn’t hard, but getting a good motion track can be tricky especially for shots that were dark or didn’t have a good surface to track. This involved a lot of testing and troubleshooting to get a clean track that had minimal to zero sliding so that all objects seem like they’re truly part of the scene. The previously made assets were all composited into each scene and animated to “digitally appear” in the scene.

Finally an ending card was created in Blender with a 3D model of the logo as well as information for where to order and learn more about the glasses. Upon revisiting this project many of the tracked shots were polished to avoid sliding on most of the tracked assets. The ending card was also redone to include a visually smoother logo with new lighting to further accentuate it. In the end, this project was a little different compared to the others due to its use of live action footage and motion tracking. Regardless it was a fun project to work on and I’m satisfied with the end result.
